I Sniffin' Love Books Giveaway!

I had interviewed Isalys and Vanessa from Book ♥ Soulmates a few weeks ago and they stated that they love the smell of actual books. I admire the fact that they included that in the post, because in all actuality, we probably all do this on the low.

Whenever I enter a bookstore I breathe in the smell. I can't quite explain the excitement I feel when I sniff a new book. On the outside, it sounds and looks crazy, but I know I'm not alone.

So, today I am proclaiming that I am a book sniffer and I'm damn proud of it! Who is with me? Anyone? I hope I don't hear crickets. :) To celebrate this weird but cool book quirk, I've listed my top six books that I am most excited to smell in 2012.

In the mix, I've also included a giveaway where you could enter to win any book of your choice to smell and read as well. I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts about this secret sniffin' addiction of ours!

You're not alone! I love the smell of a new book. I almost always give a big sniff whenever I get a new book in my hands. Especially if they have springy pages (they're softer and a little thicker, sort of like construction paper. Does anyone know what I mean??).

I don't like the smell of old books though.

I missed the interview, will have to go back and check it out!
But, it's like a new box of crayons, new books do have a wonderful, recognizable smell!

Fellow book sniffer here! Reading appeals to all my senses: the scent of the book, the feel of my fingers turning the pages and feeling the weight of the book in my hands, the sound of pages turning, tasting all the delightful turns of phrases on my tongue, my eyes drifting over the words but seeing the story unfold like a movie in my head.

The smell and feel of books is why I won't ever give up my physical copies of novels. :-)

I'm a huge book sniffer! One of the first things I do when I pick of a book is smell them :)

ha! I love smelling books too! Especially old books. I'm not a huge fan of new books. They smell...I dont' know, just not as great as old books. I've been told it's weird, but it's usually by people that have never done it so I tell them to try it and of course they get it!

I think that's the thing a lot of people who don't want e-readers say. I know I love walking into a bookstore as much for the smell as the books! Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

I thought I was the only one! I sniff my books, I can't help it. When I get books in the mail and they're so clean and crisp before I get my grubby hand prints and bag dirt on them. LOL.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I REALLY can't wait to read Enshadowed! A year in a half is way too long to wait to find out what happens next!

I love the smell of a bookstore and occasionally sniff brand new books that I buy. There's something about freshly printed paper that so exciting.lol I'm so glad I'm not the only one, I was beginning to think that I'm the only crazy person.lol

I love sniffing new books! They smell so clean and fresh and like paper! I hate sniffing books that I've borrowed or that are from the library! Those usually smell like old lady mixed with smoke. Gross!

I sniffin' love the smell of books too! Glad to know we're not alone.

Nope, not alone! My favorite bookstore in the world is in LoDo in Denver, CO--The Tattered Cover. And part of my love stems from the smell of the place, from the hardwood floors to the antique couches and chairs, to the books (old and new) stacked floor to ceiling. I walk in there, take a breath, and feel like I've stepped into an entirely different world.

Smiles!

My husband thinks I'm weird when I sniff new books.

Mandy said...

Nope! Definitely NOT alone there. I LOVE the smell of bookstores and libraries and I love walking up to a new book in a bookstore and opening it and smelling.

My husband thinks I'm crazy, lol. But oh well. It's one of those smells that kind of stinks, but you want to keep smelling, if that makes sense. I love the smell, though it's kind of RAWR.

Thank you so much for the giveaway! Everyone should make a button for their page stating they are part of the book sniffer club. The button should be a picture of yourself sniffing one of your favorite books, ha ha. =D

LOL I love how we're all the same in ways that we thought we were different. I seriously thought I was the only one who loved the smell of books, I even asked my friends is they sniffed books, and they all looked at me like I was on some stuff lol. But i see this post and all the comments, and it makes me feel like I have a hidden family somewhere out there in the world... it's a nice feeling! :) :h:

My best friend does it and yeah, he's weird. I always worry, what if you sneeze in it. What if someone else has sneezed in it before you got there? ewww....(Okay that's it. I'm sold on ebooks. ;)) Oh well. I guess he's not alone.

I ALWAYS smell new books! Even old, musty library books have their own appeal too...
