Books for Thought: What book series did you first start reading?

Previously known as Monday's Question of the Day, Books For Thought is a feature where I post a book-related question up for discussion. I am open to all opinions and enjoy reading diverse comments from my lovely followers. I look forward to picking your minds!

Have a question idea? Share it here and I'll feature your blog in this post.

What book series did you first start reading?
(ie: Sweet Valley High, R.L. Stine, etc.)

*Question Credit: Julie from My 5 Monkeys

My Response: Thank you Julie for always participating, yet again another great question. This definitely brings me back to junior high when I was into Sweet Valley High and R.L. Stine books. I remember I had them all stacked in order for me to read before bed every night. I was also fond of the R.L. Stine covers. If I only knew what covers were going to evolve into!

What are your bookish thoughts?

Ooh, good question! I think I started two series at once--the Sweet Valley High books, and Jane Yolen's Pit Dragon series. She's the reason I'll be a lifelong lover of fantasy and fantasy worlds. And then Piers Anthony's Xanth series is probably the reason I became a writer!

The first series that I remember reading was The Boxcar Children when I was a child. (I'm surprised that I remember that!) As a teenager, it was the Twilight saga.

The series that got me into reading was the "Time" series (as it's called on Goodreads) by Madeleine L'Engle, starting with A Wrinkle in Time.

I'm just going to be unoriginal and say twilight. Gosh, shoot me now. But it really was the first series i ever read, unless like all of Dr. Seuss books count lol
