Blogger Fame Interview: Basma Aal from In Between The Lines!

Blogger Fame is a meme that features a blogger once a week. I currently have a lot of entries, once it clears up, I'll add the link to join again.

Today's celebrity is . . .

Basma Aal from In Between The Lines!

Name: Basma Aal
Age:18
Location: Canada
Twitter: @basma_aal

1) Basma, what inspired you to start your blog, In Between the Lines?

BA: I really wanted to become a better writer and the only way I can do that is by…well… writing. So, I decided to start blogging to motivate me to write constantly.

2) What's the meaning behind your blog title?

BA: When I am reading a book, I am always trying to figure out hidden messages in between the lines. Personally, I think a smart book should have in between the line messages and my blog mission is to tell you about these in between the line things but without a spoiling the book.

3) What is the best and worst part about blogging?

BA: Blogging keeps me up to date with the latest buzz around books and also entering challenges is an exciting part of blogging. The worst part would be not having time to write reviews, sometimes.

4) Which is your favorite genre to review?

BA: Contemporary fiction and paranormal.

5) What are your top five favorite books of all time?

BA: Wither by Lauren DeStefano - It was the best dystopian I've read, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins -Awesome!, Just Listen by Sarah Dessen, Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, Girl by Blake Nelson.

6) Who is your favorite author? If you had the chance to meet them, what would you say?

BA: My favorite author is Sarah Dessen. I would say to her: I love your books; they inspire me every day. Yea, I think I would say that.

7) Do you have any quirks while you write your reviews?

BA: The whole place needs to be quite when I am writing a review. But when I am done with writing the review, I have to read it out loud several times and maybe sing it.

8) If you could make a fictional story come alive, which would you pick and why?

BA: Harry Potter books for sure because it's magical.

9) Currently, which book cover(s) are you lusting over?

BA: In my opinion, all 2011 books covers are awesome. But the cover I am lusting over is "The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer" by Michelle Hodkin. I don’t even know what the book is about but I want it so bad because of the cover.

10) Which type five blogs do you continually visit?

BA: Aside from yours (Eleni: thank you! xoxo)

11) If you had to give advice to a newcomer, what would you tell them about blogging?

BA: It is not about the number of your followers, it is about the uniqueness of your blog.

Thank you Basma for this awesome interview!

Great interview Basma! I completely agree with your advice at the end. The number of followers is just that: a number. Content and personality are much more important.
