Beautiful Book Hangover!

Beautiful Book Hangover will be posted sporadically on La Femme Readers. According to the Urban Dictionary, "a book hangover is a headache you get after staying up into the wee hours of the morning staring at teeny tiny print." As book addicts we've all experienced this type of hangover many times, so why not share them with each other? You are more than welcome to use this idea, just as long as you credit me.

Book Hangover Choice:

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Reading Level: Young Adult
Release Date: Available Now
Pages: 352

Summary: Amy Curry thinks her life sucks. Her mom decides to move from California to Connecticut to start anew--just in time for Amy's senior year. Her dad recently died in a car accident. So Amy embarks on a road trip to escape from it all, driving cross-country from the home she's always known toward her new life. Joining Amy on the road trip is Roger, the son of Amy's mother's old friend. Amy hasn’t seen him in years, and she is less than thrilled to be driving across the country with a guy she barely knows. So she's surprised to find that she is developing a crush on him. At the same time, she’s coming to terms with her father’s death and how to put her own life back together after the accident. Told in traditional narrative as well as scraps from the road--diner napkins, motel receipts, postcards--this is the story of one girl's journey to find herself.

Why it kept me up: I read this book last year but, it still lingers in my mind. I absolutely loved it inside out. The road trip between Amy and Roger definitely gave me the urge to jump in a car and just drive (re-doing my expired permit would help though.) I hope to one day use this book as a map to a fun adventure. Oh maybe a blogger road trip would be amazing. Any one? Hehe. If you haven't read this book, you need to, like yesterday!

Time of sleep: I think it was around 3:30 AM

Which book kept you up all night this week?

LOL, love the definition. I hadn't heard of this, but I get it allll the time. And I agree, this is one heck of a road trip. I hate road trips personally, but love reading about them, lol. :D

AND, GIRL, CAN I SAY YOUR HEADER IS AWESOME? Have you heard the song Time to Love by Kara ft. Supernova, because it's my recent k-pop song addiction (though it's already a year old). :o
