Monday's Question of the Day on Tuesday!

*You are welcome to use my meme - just credit me please*

Question: Do you have any pet peeves towards people who borrow your books?

My Answer: I normally don't mind when people borrow my books, as long as they come back in mint condition. I've had situations where a book went from new to old and mangled looking. My poor Twilight paperback has been through the block and officially needs to be replaced. Now, besides the used look, I cannot stand when a book comes back with stains. I'm glad they are enjoying it but I don't want to see that you were drinking coffee at the time. So, at the end of the day, I will continue to let my friends borrow books however, they have to hear the rules first.

I'd love to know your thoughts, so leave me a comment :)

As long as they come back the way I lent them, then I'm fine. I've also had books come back in not so great conditions. I just got my copy of Nevermore back with a big old red juice stain on the side. My brothers usually ruin my books as well, but I'm at least happy their reading something even if it means sacrificing my books. My peeve is that they don't treat the books properly.

I am ok with letting people borrow my books, provided they give them back on time and in good condition. It really annoys me when the person "forgets" to give it back.

I feel the same way. I actually ask those who borrow my book not to eat and drink anything while reading it. I spend money on my books and I like them to look good when I get them back.

I have no problem lending books to my friends, as long as they give them back the same way there were when they left my hands.I don't think that's a lot to ask.Eating on top of a book or using the book as a coaster or many, many other things, means that you're totally uncivilized and I'll probably want nothing to do with you.

I've tried to loan friends books before...but I just can't do it. I actually ended up buying my friend a copy of Breaking Dawn rather than loaning her mine. Movies, CDs, my car - fine, go for it. But don't touch my babies!

Yes, I realize I'm crazy lol.

I don't loan personal favorites, as they tend to vanish, but usually if someone wants to borrow a book, I say yes.

I had a girl DROP MY COPY OF ECLIPSE IN THE BATHTUB. Seriously?! You're gonna read someone else's wonderful book naked, while bathing. Um, No. She no longer borrows my book. In fact, only certain people--fellow book nerds--are allowed to borrow my books.

I never had a friend borrow a book but if I do I want it back the way I gave it to them. And I'll appreciate if it doesn't take them a lifetime to read the book. I understand people have busy lives but after awhile I would like my book back on the shelf.

My biggest pet peeve is getting my book back in a worse condition then when it was loaned to them. I hardly let anyone borrow my books, I don't why! Maybe it's this OCD thing that I have, or something but I CAN NOT STAND IT! If there's a page that was folded to bookmark the page, or a dent on the cover, I go crazy! I'm super crazy about my books - hardly will I ever let someone borrow them, lol!

I let people borrow books if I'm sure they'll give them back. One pet peeve is bending the spin on a book. I like to put mine on the book case and like for them to look nice, so a bent spine doesn't look so hot... LOL!

Those who say they'll return them but never do.
