Waiting On Wednesday: Unravel Me, Panic and The Summer Prince!

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi (HarperCollins, 2/5/13)

Sequel to Shatter Me, need I say more? I love Mafi's writing, she's a literal genius.

Panic by Sharon M. Draper (Atheneum Books for Young Readers, 4/2/13)

I have no idea what this is about, but I effin' love this cover. A beautiful butterfly that's being pinned by needles, the symbolism doesn't get any better. I'm looking forward to knowing more about this one!

The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson (Scholastic, 3/2013)

Summary: Four hundred years ago, the world ended. And now, on the coast of what was once called Brazil, women rule in the legendary pyramid city of Palmares Três. The city's Queen only cedes her power to a man once every five years -- to a Summer King, whose story will grip the city like a fever.  For June Costa, art is everything. Her brilliant creations -- from murals and holograms to a delicate pattern of lights in her skin -- have impressed (and irritated) her classmates and teachers alike. Her dream is to win the prestigious Queen's Award, and the instant fame and success that come with it. It's a dream she never questions -- until she meets Enki. Enki, the newly-elected Summer King, is the hottest thing in Palmares Três. But when June sees Enki, she sees more than piercing amber eyes and a lethal samba: She sees a fellow artist.  Together, June and Enki will create art that Palmares Três will never forget. They will add fuel to a growing rebellion against the government's strict limits on new tech. And June will fall deeply, tragically in love with Enki.   Because like all Summer Kings before him, Enki is destined to die.

Women in charge? Hell yes to that! The concept sounds great, I'm intrigued!

What are your thoughts on these books?

Oooooh. I like your picks! The Summer Prince especially, with its Brazilian cultural influences. And you're right, the cover of Panic is haunting!

I am also so ready for Unravel Me!! That second cover is very beautiful, it's one of those where I'd pick it up just because of that. I'll have to see what it is about now though. You can check out my WoW here.

And I just love Panic's cover! I've never heard of it before, but I'm probably gonna end up adding it to my TBR because of the cover too.
Awesome picks!!

I´m from Brazil, and the summary of Summer prince picked my interest, but I couldn't help but laugh, especially at the "lethal samba" part, and the name of the city "Palmares três" wich means palmares= lot of palm trees, três= three... It look like the story is going to have the most the stereotypical stuff about Brazil... But I am still looking forward to reading it, if not only for the lugh

Thesis writing involves several processes which makes the entirety of the experience both exciting and challenging. From choosing a researchable topic that has not been done by other students and eventually narrowing it down to become a uniquely original work to soliciting the help of a research supervisor and in embarking on data collection and writing the paper, these are some of the tasks that almost all undergraduate and graduate students working on a thesis consider as stressful. In spite of the many challenges that students have to put up with, undeniably, the thesis project is an important project-based and challenge-based educational experience that helps in building character and in preparing students for their chosen career. One particular skill that is indispensable and which perhaps is unknowingly cultivated among students as they work on a thesis is the ability to work with a group of superiors.

I'm captivated by this series and book 2 was even better than book 1. Juliette is still struggling with herself and her abilities while Adam is trying to figure out his own. This story is full of love, friendship, pain and sorrow. You will feel each one deeply and find yourself holding your breath more than once. I loved every word and can't wait to read the last book!

Unravel Me is successful to retain the mind shattering effect on me same as the first book did. I would say the total series literally barraged my mind with it gripping actions, lots of power play and extremely sensual romance.
