Books for Thought: Do you have any family members that read?

Previously known as Monday's Question of the Day, Books For Thought is a feature where I post a book-related question up for discussion. I am open to all opinions and enjoy reading diverse comments from my lovely followers. I look forward to picking your minds!

Have a question idea? Share it here and I'll feature your blog in this post.

Do you have any family members that read? If so, do they ever want to read your books?

My Response: The only family members that read are my mom and my cousin. My mom just recently started reading, which in my book is pretty damn awesome. The only crappy part is that my mom reads English slowly and sometimes has trouble understanding the text. So, for her sake I go online and order her Greek books. I love the fact that some YA books are now being translated in my second language which gives my mom the chance to read them. I just bought her The Hunger Games and I am hoping she enjoys it as much as I did!

What are your bookish thoughts?

On my biological side, no. Of my inlaws, yes.

When I was growing up, my parents weren't readers but they did encourage me and happily feed my hobby.

Great question.

Nice question! Everyone in my family, with the exception of my dad, are all big readers.
My sisters and I also share/read each others books.=)

How much fun to have your mother reading The Hunger Games, perhaps I should try persuading my mum to check it out too. It's translated into Norwegian as well.

Both my mum and dad likes to read and my younger sister, two years my junior, loves reading just as much as I do :)

My dad is an avid reader, too. I remember him always having at least one library book in the house, and I remember often seeing him curled up reading. I don't doubt that it helped influence my own development into an avid reader, too.

One of my sisters reads, too - just not quite as much as I do.

My niece reads a lot, too.

I'm hoping at least one of my kids will be avid readers, too.

MY dad is a very avid read and a fast one to boot. My brother only plays video games...but I he reads game guides, does that count ;) I got my mom and ereader and she really loves it and now reads way more than she used to, she had a hard time looking the pages before.

My mom is a big reader. She's a children's library so we talk a lot about books and we both love fantasy. My dad only reads Shakespeare or anthing older than the 1800s he jokes. My sisters only read if made to.

But, luckily I married a guy who likes reading fantasy and sci fi novels and has two little sisters (16 and 19) that love to read. So I get to gift them books at Christmas and Birthdays, one is a huge Shiver fan and the other is a huge Hex Hall fan. :) Their mom also reads a ton - especially crime novels.

Yes my mom reads and so does my 9 year old son. My mom actually also reviews for my blog, she does most of the adult reviews.

My baby brother does... Well he DID, now he's 18! And thinks he's too 'cool' for EVERYTHING!

My niece and nephew are the readers. My niece especially likes my YA book recommendations.

I don't have any family that read as much as I do, but a family friend's daughter has decided she wants to raid my library. I think she's already moved about a quarter of my books to her house lol.

That's very cool of you to go and buy your mom books in Greek so she can enjoy reading more. My mom, sister, boyfriend, and son all read - but I'm the book nerd of the bunch. I love it when I can find a book that we all love! (I've gotten everyone but mom to read The Hunger Games.)
