Summary: "I don't love Sonny Flannery." That's the lie Kelley Winslow told to protect the boy she loves from a power he doesn't know he possesses. Devastated, Sonny retreats—to a haven for Lost Fae that's hidden deep underneath New York City. But Kelley's not about to let things end in heartbreak. To get Sonny back, she's got to find out who's after his magick—and how to use her own. She's got to uncover who's recruiting Janus Guards to murderously hunt innocent Faerie. She's got to help rebuild the shattered theater company she called family. And she's got to do it all without getting dangerously distracted by the Fennrys Wolf, whose legendary heart of stone seems to melt whenever he's around Kelley. The intrigue and romance that began with Wondrous strange and Darklight come to a stormy head in Tempestuous, the breathtaking conclusion to Lesley Livingston's ravishing urban Faerie trilogy.

My Review: Lesley's Wondrous Strange series is my all time favorite faerie creation. The sequel, Darklight concluded with a cliffhanger that left me salivating for the last installment, Tempestuous. Once I snagged a copy, my expectations were high for an enchanting and action-packed deliverance. Lesley continued to please me with her sophisticated writing and detailed character definitions. Each individual introduced, especially the lost fae, had their own voice and personality traits. The connection between the characters were established in a way, where I felt comfortable with their unannounced appearances. Now, Kelley remained an admirable female protagonist that blossomed into a fine faerie princess. Her knowledge and technique escalated her ability to gain access to her underlying roots. While Sonny, the handsome, heart-stopping Janus shocked me with a discovery I wasn't expecting.

This time around, due to an unexpected occurrence, the couple went separate ways. As individuals, their strength was present, however I missed the romantic and electric energy between the two. I must say though, the only disappointment was the slow build up throughout the novel. On a bright note, the last one hundred pages reminded me why I fell in love with this trilogy. The plot's twists and turns ignited a joyous ride, I wish didn't conclude. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. In my opinion, Lesley's creative and magical world will forever withstand any other faerie series (unless I'm proven wrong). The distinguished wording and endearing story line will leave me with good memories. I am saddened to see it go, but excited to see the next series, Starlight coming in 2012! If you haven't read this trilogy yet, I recommend you do so, especially if you love spunky females and sexy male leads.

Author's Info:
Lesley is a writer and actor livingin Toronto, Canada. Captivated at a young age by stories of mythology and folk lore, past civilizations, and legendary heroes, she developed into a full-fledged Celtic Mythology Geek, steeped in stories of the Otherworld, Faeries and King Arthur. Lesley went on to earn a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Toronto specializing in Shakespeare and Arthurian literature. For almost three years, Lesley hosted weekly late-night movie marathons on the nationally broadcast television show, Spacebar, as the Waitron-9000, a sparkly holographic waitress with an encyclopedic knowledge of obscure B-movie trivia. She is also a founding member and principal performer with Tempest Theatre Group. Lesley is an unrepentant egghead – a character-trait that somehow doesn’t interfere with a love of shoes and shiny things. Wondrous Strange is her debut novel, the first in a trilogy published by HarperCollins.

I'm really anxious to get my hands on this book! I, like you, think it's one of the best fey type series out there.

Have you read The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa? That's another one of my new faerie type favorite series.
