My Review: Henry's release Girl, Stolen, shined as an intense and insightful look into a nightmarish kidnapping. Written in a dual narration, I was given the chance to not only acquaint myself with the victim but the abductor as well. Without realizing it, Griffin drives away with a stolen car with Cheyenne, a sick and blind teen in the backseat. Cheyenne was an amazingly brave individual who held her own all throughout. Her sense of direction and heightened instincts caused me to forget that she was even blind. Her mentally acute ideas and strong willed personality definitely played a part in carrying the story. I was pleasantly surprised at how relatable both characters were, even Griffin who seemed to be misunderstood had a likability factor.
Surrounded by Griffin's evil father I grew to sympathize with his hard life. I quickly learned that he wasn't a bad person deep down, just lost and confused. Usually the person who commits the crime has a negative aura around them, but in this case, his character had an innocent side. The laid back vibe in the writing was consistent until the last few chapters, where the energy elevated. The heart-stopping action in the fight for Cheyenne's survival was thrilling. I didn't want to stop reading until I knew what was going to happen next. The ending was a bit open ended which leads me to believe that a sequel might be in the works. All in all, a good plot with a protagonist who will inspire you to be a fighter under any circumstance.

GIRL, STOLEN is filled with plenty of excitement and suspense. There is the obvious complication of Cheyenne's blindness and the added difficulty of her physical illness and her immediate need for antibiotics. Those problems alone would be enough for most authors, but Henry adds other creative plot twists that will keep readers on their toes.
