Comic Con 2010 Experience

This year was my first time attending Comic Con. I'm not a comic book, video game or anime fan so I didn't really know what to expect. To my relief, there were great book publishers there so I was lucky enough to snag some ARC's and finished copies. I do prefer BEA 10x better due to the fact that it's Christmas for bookworms. Plus, Comic Con was so crowded you couldn't even walk, supposedly 80,000 people were there. Besides that, I had a fun time hanging out with Sherry from Flipping Pages for all Ages and her mom. I also ran into Larissa from Larissa's Bookish Life and Heather from Darkly Reading, it was great to see them in person. Below are the books and swag...

Me and Sherry..

Now, the highlight of Comic Con for me was getting the chance to meet the R&B singer, Ne-Yo. I love his music and voice so I tried to compose myself and not act like a stalker. With help from Stan Lee (creator of Spider Man) he is coming out with his own comic book, so that was pretty cool. My digital camera sucks, so luckily Sherry was able to take some pics of him close up...

Stan Lee & Ne-Yo

He signed a sampler of his comic book :)

Another element of Comic Con was getting to witness all the crazy costumes people were wearing. Below are pics of a few costumes that me and Sherry bumped into...

This dude freaked me out, I had to take a picture with him. Jeez, my mouth looks so big here haha.

Don't really know what he is supposed to be, but it looks cool!

Edward Scissorhands, love this look!

Also, last Tuesday I was lucky enough to attend a Macmillan event where they celebrated Alexandra Adornetto's release, Halo. I was so grateful to be invited to such an amazing event where I met the nicest people. I enjoyed hanging out with Rachel from The Book Muncher and Mitali from Alley of Books. It was truly surreal associating with Macmillan's team of creative and talented individuals. In addition, Alexandra was super cute and a delight to be around. I can't wait to see how the cover for the sequel Hades will look like. Hopefully our YA insight we gave the cover designer will come in handy, or not? ;)

Awesome books, especially Clockwork Angel (I cannot wait to read this one) and Blood Thirsty. Short of the chrusing crowds, Comic Con looks like fun. ^_^
