My Review: The Secret Society of the Pink Crystal Ball was an adorable and endearing novel. I was entertained thoroughly with a well-developed plot and individualized characters. Erin, and her best friend Samantha and Lindsay were a hilarious, versatile group of girls who embodied the real meaning of friendship. Through there ups and downs, at the end of the day they remained united. Erin, the main voice in the novel, became the recent holder of the pink crystal ball passed down from her late aunt, Kiki. Now, it wasn't your typical eight ball that we've all played with when we were young. This ball in Erin's hands, was a wish granter that also carried consequences. Kiki left Erin riddle-like directions that were important to the usage of this mysterious ball. Once she established its power, it seemed to cause problems not only for Erin, but her friends as well.Release Date: Available Now

Summary:
In a world where nothing is certain, a little magic couldn't hurt...right?
When Erin Channing's favorite aunt dies, Erin is bequeathed a pink crystal ball and a set of weird instructions. Granted, Aunt Kiki (aka Aunt Kooky) always lived "outside the box." But now Erin and her two best friends are convinced that the pink crystal ball holds the key to their future-or at least the key to getting dates...
Consider Your Fate to Be Sealed . . .
- Absolute knowledge is not unlimited; let the planets be your guide to the number.
- There are sixteen ways to die, but four of them you will never see.
- The future belongs to you alone. Other voices will be disappointed.
- One rotation is as far as you can see. Only uncertainty lies beyond.
Erin's personality was mellow compared to her friends who were eccentric and outgoing. The fact that she wasn't a risk taker, labeled her as "boring" in the group. I actually liked that she was different than most the protagonists I read about. In reality, we aren't all thrill seekers, I sure know I'm not. In spite of that, Erin did show signs of change, especially when Jesse re-surfaced in her life. His manner was sweet and charming. He seemed like a good fit for Erin. Finally, all the events caused by the pink crystal ball were engaging from beginning to end. My favorite part was definitely the ending which helped me understand the true testament behind aunt Kiki's gift. Risa's sarcastic undertone and light writing will keep you smiling with every chapter. It's definitely recommended not only for young adults but tweens as well.
My Rating: (4.5)
