Who has heard of or read Paranormalcy? If you haven't, you must pick it up! Kiersten White bleeping blew me away with her debut. I can't wait to read the next installments in this fantastic series! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. If you haven't read my review, check it out here.

In Kiersten's words, "Like most adults, I was once a teenager. However, I never outgrew it--literally. Standing at a daunting 4'11", I decided to write to my height peer group. Everyone knows that teenagers have more fun. Turns out writing for teenagers is more entertaining, too. Born and raised in Utah, I was lucky enough to marry a native San Diegan and be adopted into the fish taco and beach culture. A stay-at-home mom and full-time writer (if you count scraping in whatever hours I can after my kids go to bed as full-time), I live with my wonderful husband and two adorable children in San Diego, CA. I'm currently twenty-six, but that's bound to change next year. Desperate for entertainment, I started writing shortly after having my first baby and haven't stopped since. Being an author is quite literally a dream come true for a girl who spent every free childhood moment reading, and still spends most of her moments (free or otherwise) daydreaming. When I'm not writing, I enjoy blogging and reading anything I can get my hands on. I probably need to branch out a bit in my hobbies."

Author Interview:
1) When did you first consider yourself a writer?
KW: I think when I finished my first novel I realized this was something I could actually commit to.
2) What inspired you to write Paranormalcy?
KW: Just an idea, really, of how you'd deal with vampires if you didn't want to kill them. That triggered the image of a government institution to regulate everything, and a witty, sarcastic girl somehow indispensable to them. It all spun out from there!
3) If you had to describe your book in one word, what would it be and why?
KW: Quirky. I hope that it'll stand out in the paranormal genre because it combines so much light and dark or funny and scary.
4) Evie, the main character works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, if she had to write her duties on a resume, what would it say?
KW: "I bag and tag creepy-crawly-blood-sucky-nasties so that the rest of humanity doesn't have to deal with them. And I wear fabulous shoes while doing so."
5) What can we expect from the Paranormalcy series?
KW: A little bit of everything--a funny take on supernatural creatures, romance, adventure, and an exploration of just what it means to be normal in a strange, strange world.
6) Do you have any other projects you're currently working on?
KW: Always! I'm waiting on the edits for the first sequel, prepping another unrelated manuscript (a ghost story!) for submission at the end of the year, and writing the first draft of an entirely new project.
7) Besides being a full-time mother and writer, what else do you like to do in your free time?
KW: Ha! Sorry, I haven't had "free time" in six years : ) I blog daily at kierstenwrites.blogspot.com and am on twitter quite a bit. Obviously I love reading and squeeze that in whenever possible, but most of my life right now revolves around my two small children. They are very time consuming and very beautiful, and I have a very happy life.
8) What book are you currently reading?
KW: Stardust, by Neil Gaiman.
9) Do you have anything to say to all your present and future readers?
KW: THANK YOU. Seriously, thank you for being interested enough to pick my books up off the shelf. I can't tell you how much it means to me, and I hope you enjoy! That's the whole point of why I write.
10) What's the most craziest thing you've ever done that you wouldn't dare share with others (besides us of course hehe)?
KW: You know, I was a very, very obedient child and teenager. I harbored a deep fear of getting in trouble! So how's this for crazy: I've never smoked, tasted a drop of alcohol, or said a swearword. Ever. In my whole life. Seems to me that's pretty crazy, right?
