Monday's Question of the Day!

*You are welcome to use my meme - just credit me please*

Question:
Do you prefer short and sweet reviews or long and detailed?

My Answer: I prefer short and sweet. I tend to write my reviews in the same style as well. Long and detailed reviews are most of the time beautifully written. However, I don't have the patience to read the whole thing so, I find myself skimming. I also do that because I want my reviews to be my words. I don't want to cloud my mind with other opinions. But, when it's short and simple I tend to enjoy the reviews more.

I'd love to know your thoughts, so leave me a comment :) Have a question idea? E-mail me at lafemmereaders@yahoo.com and I'll give you credit!

I agree I tend to like short and sweet reviews, though I am trying to train myself to write my reviews in the same style. At the same time their are some blogs whose reviews I love that are very long and detailed. But overall I'd choose short and to the point!!!

I'm like you, I also prefer short and sweet reviews. My main reason is I'm afraid of reading spoilers or plot points revealed, that I've rather read myself. Everyone has their own idea of what a spoiler is and I think it's all subjective to the individual as what is or isn't.

depends on the book --but i like to skim over them too and not too many spoilers too.Great question.

short, sweet and to the point. I don't want to read a mini novel before I actually read it.

I agree with you Eleni, I do the same. But I continue to write long reviews regardless :)
I start out wanting to write a small one and then I find there are so many things I want to say, that it ends up being pretty long. And I know it's tiring for someone to read because it happens to me with other people's reviews. It all comes down to the way one expresses him/herself,I suppose.

Haha, the always debated question. *sigh* I prefer READING short reviews, because I do skim on really long ones, but sometimes I just feel like I have to many things to express. I'm trying to shorten them now, but I still tend to ramble, lol! Thanks for the link, girl. :D

I don't really have a preference, but I know a lot of people do, so that's why I also include the high and low points so that way people can get the gist of whatever I'm blabbing about ;)

Short and sweet. I don't read long reviews, I jump over them. I don't want to read the book by reading a review, you know?

lol if only i was capable of such a thing i would love to keep them short and sweet but i find that im not satisfied until its a few paragraphs long lol its awful i really need to cut down

It depends on the info given. If it helps me understand whether or not I want to read the book, I'm fine with longer ones. Short and sweet save me time and are great if I get enough info.

I tend to write short ones and I prefer reading short ones. I do happen to write longer ones for books I reallllly love because short ones just dont have enough space to say all the great things I want to say. :)

I prefer short and sweet just because I myself have a short attention span. I also appreciate bloggers giving readers the heads up on spoilers.

I usually only read reviews after I read the book and review it myself. But maybe reading comments- that is not what readers want?

I agree. I prefer short-and-sweet reviews. I will skim long ones, more to see the bottom line. You know, how many stars/books/whatever.

I'd have to say short and to the point reviews are best!
