Summary: It's been centuries since Isabeau St. Croix barely survived the French Revolution. Now she's made her way back to the living and she must face the ultimate test by confronting the evil British lord who left her for dead the day she turned into a vampire. That's if she can control her affection for Logan Drake, a vampire whose bite is as sweet as the revenge she seeks. The clans are gathering for Helena's royal coronation as the next vampire queen, and new alliances are beginning to form now that the old rifts of Lady Natasha's reign have started to heal. But with a new common enemy, Leander Montmarte—a vicious leader who hopes to force Solange to marry him and usurp the power of the throne for himself—the clans must stand together to preserve the peace he threatens to destroy. This second adventure in the Drake Chronicles—told from both Logan's and Iabeau's perspectives—has all the same butt-kicking action, heart-pounding romances and snarky humor that readers loved in Hearts at Stake, as well as exciting new revelations about the vampire dynasties to keep readers coming back for more.

My Review: Blood Feud was a decent follow
up to Hearts At Stake. In the first book, the story was told from Lucy's and Solange's perspectives while Blood Feud introduced Logan and Isabeau. I have mixed feelings about these characters. I was a huge fan of Lucy and Solange and I caught myself missing them throughout the book. They made appearances but mainly played a background role. Now, I did enjoy getting to know another attractive Drake brother, Logan. He didn't give me the bad boy vibe I got with Nicholas, however he was charming and lovable. The female focus was on Isabeau, a vampire who was brought to life after being buried for a very long time. She was a hound and I finally got to experience there species.

Besides my interest in her lifestyle, it took me awhile to warm up to her. I believe she started growing on me once her and Logan's relationship grew. Their bond and chemistry was undeniable. As time when on, I did enjoy learning more and more about the Drake family. Overall, I liked Blood Feud. I just wasn't enthralled in it as I was with Hearts At Stake. I believe my high expectations took away from the story. I was also continually reading in order to see Nicholas and Lucy show up. I just hope Alyxandra brings back the original narrators in the next installment. But, I am prepared to be more open minded if new characters take the spotlight. It was a pretty good sequel but it didn't wow me like Hearts At Stake did.

My Rating:
Author's Info:
Alyxandra Harvey is the author of Hearts at Stake, the first book in the Drake Chronicles. She studied creative writing and literature at York University and has had her poetry published in several magazines. When not writing, she is a belly dancer and jewelry-maker. I also really wish she would've stuck with the original main cast but I do really enjoy Logan so i'm not too upset about it. The third book is called Out for Blood here's the link - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7801124-out-for-blood

It doesn't seem like she's going to go back to Lucy and Nicholas in this one either =(
