Monday's Question of the Day! (Feb. 1, 2010)

*You are welcome to use my meme - just credit me please*

Question: Last year we all know vampires and werewolves were in, what supernatural figure will take over 2010?

My Answer: I think vampires and werewolves will still be popular due to Eclipse. But, I think fallen angels and faeries might step up in the game. I'm starting to notice movies such as Legion are coming out and books such as Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Also, faerie books such as The Iron King and Wondrous Strange will make faerie books fun again. Below is the movie trailer for Legion if you want to check it out...has anyone seen it yet? I wasn't too sure if it was worth the money, so any thoughts?

I'd love to know your answers, so leave me a comment :)

I also think that fallen angels are going to take a big boost this year. Though I think that vampires and werewolves are just getting started. :]

I agree with faeries!! But vamps will always be "in". I don't know about Legion. I kind of wanted to see it but I may wait until it is on Direct TV.

While I agree that faeries and angels will get more play, I have to agree with others that vamps and werewolves will still remain strong.

There are already many established and popular series that are based on these supernatural creatures. With the next installment of the Twilight series, and Vamp Diaries and True Blood on TV I think the magic for them will still continue.

I hope so because I'm still such a fan! As long as it's done well, I'm always up for a vamp/were tale!

I also think vamps and were's are here to stay for 2010. "The House of Night" series is being made into a movie, and also coming out with "Burned". TV shows like TruBlood and the Vamp Diaries are bigger than ever. I'm sure theres room for the faeries and angels as well. The media has always had a strange fascination with the supernatural and I don't think they'll be a passing fad anytime soon.

Also I know in Florida at least witches and warlocks will probably be getting notice again. (They are opening Hogwarts theme park at Universal Studios this year).

I think lycans will take off more, but heard a lot about zombies lately.

I agree that vamps will remain big, and faeries and fallen angels will also be getting a boost.

The one I think is going to start rising steadily over the next few years? Mermaids/selkies. I already know of 4 books out this year dealing with that theme, and I'm sure there are more I'm not aware of.

Aww. I definitely think Fallen Angels will rock this year. But, like you said, vamps and werewolves are still trending because of Eclipse and so. Hmmm. Legion looks so nice, especially because of Paul Bettany, one of my top 5 favorite actors! An angel, isn't he? LOL. Love it!

Fallen angels are DEFINITELY going to be playing a part in 2010. Hush Hush and Fallen only had the biggest promos EVER, haha. As for faeries, I'm definitely crossing my fingers to see more of them, and I agree with Alyssa on the mermaid thing. Witches, hm, they might become a bit more prominent, but I really don't see a huge increase. I'm also hoping for a new twist on werewolves and vampires. Maybe we can have shiny weresolves? Hot. ;)
As for Legion, my blogger buddy Melissa posted a very short but to the point review of Legion a while back. I hope you don't mind me posting a link, but you can check it out here. The gist of it is basically: confusing, but with awesome effects.

And thanks for linking to me, girl! Very fun question this week. :D

I totally agree with you! The vampires and werewolves are definitely here to stay, but angels are stepping up to the plate! With Legion coming out at the box office and books like Hush, Hush, Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia, Fallen and a few I'm sure I am not listing... Angels will be big! I love angel books so I hope we are right! Thanks for the meme! I enjoy thinking of interesting questions! :)

Thanks for the shout out!I think vampires and werewolves are here to stay but I think Angel's are pushing their way up to the top lists. I have a feeling that paranormal creatures are going to be big!

With Eclipse coming out this year and True Blood starting up again in June, I too think that vampires and werewolves are here to stay. At least for a little while longer.

I agree with you that Fallen Angels are making their way into the spotlight.

I would have to say Angels and ghosts are the new topic for 2010. Although.....vamps, wolves and faeries haven't gone away and will continue to be popular too!
