Summary: Nina was beautiful, wild, and adored by her younger sister, Ellie. But one day, Nina disappeared. 2 years later, everyone has given up hope that Nina will return, but Ellie knows her sister is out there. If only Ellie had a clue where to look. Then she gets one, in the form of a mysterious drawing. Determined to find Nina, Ellie takes off on a crazy, sexy cross-country road trip with the only person who believes she's got a chance - her hot, adventurous new crush. Along the way, Ellie finds a few things she wasn't planning on. Like love. Lies. And the most shocking thing of all: the truth. The book contains interior black-and-white illustrations, since the sister's drawings play a crucial role in the story.

My Review: Wherever Nina Lies was a fun, fast-paced and suspenseful novel. Ellie was a likable character and it didn't take me long to get a gist of her personality. She was a loving person whose mission was to find her missing sister Nina. No one seemed to care about Nina's disappearance, not even her own mother, so she took it upon herself to look for her. Ellie was very courageous and brave, I really admired her determination even though she dealt with crazy hardships during the trip. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say the plot was a little predictable at times. Ellie sometimes was a bit naive. I automatically noticed the red flags but, she was blind sighted. I also thought the black-and-white illustrations done by her sister were beautiful. I loved looking at them not because they were clues to her whereabouts but I could tell what type of person Nina was. She was gifted and unique, so I don't blame Ellie wanting to find her sister. Overall, Lynn's writing is simple and enjoyable. I recommend it if you're looking for a cute and interesting read.

Author's Info:
Lynn Weingarten spends a lot of time writing in coffee shops while occasionally reading strangers’ laptops over their shoulders. In the past she has been a book editor, a barista, a country girl at a bakery in Ireland, a waitress at a bar, and a seller of tiny homemade clay animals. She lives in New York City, and Wherever Nina Lies was her first novel.
