Listen Up Twilight Fans!

I know some of you are tired of Twilight, so you can just skip this post, unless you love me :) But, their are some out there, like me, that still love the books, so below are some interesting news...

First of all, The New Moon DVD is now available for pre-order, it comes out March 20, 2010.

Now, some of you already heard that their making Twilight into a graphic novel, I absolutely adore the cover, below is the press release I got off of Stephenie Meyer's site:

YEN PRESS ANNOUNCES TWILIGHT: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL, VOL. 1 WILL GO ON-SALE ON MARCH 16, 2010

NEW YORK, NY (January 20, 2010) — Yen Press, the graphic novel imprint of Hachette Book Group, announced that it will publish the highly-anticipated first volume in the graphic novel adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight on March 16, 2010. Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1 will be released in hardcover for $19.99 ($22.99 CAN) with a first printing of 350,000 copies. As is typical in graphic novel publishing, due to the length of the prose novel, the book will be divided into two volumes and the release date for the second volume is forthcoming. Twilight: The Graphic Novel contains selected text from Meyer's original novel with illustrations by Korean artist Young Kim. A rare fusion of Asian and Western comic techniques is reflected in this black-and-white graphic novel with color interspersed throughout. Meyer consulted throughout the artistic process and had input on every panel. "I've enjoyed working on this new interpretation of Twilight," said Meyer. "Young has done an incredible job transforming the words that I have written into beautiful images. The characters and settings are very close to what I was imagining while writing the series." Kurt Hassler, Yen Press Publishing Director, said, "Few American publishing properties are better suited to introduce a vast readership to the medium of graphic novel than the phenomenon that is Stephenie Meyer's Twilight. Yen Press will certainly continue to expand this audience with the help of Bella and Edward." In four years, Stephenie Meyer has become a worldwide publishing phenomenon. The Twilight Saga's translation rights have been sold in nearly 50 countries and 85 million copies have been sold worldwide.

Thanks for the updates. I've heard about the graphic novel.... a friend said its been out in Japan for awhile but that could be a different one, I'm not sure. I also liked that the end of that post/article mentioned all the translation rights that been sold for Twilight- kind of puts it into perspective and yeah, there's a reason for all the 'fanaticism.' I just wonder why Twilight is getting such a bad hit for it now- like the above comment, no offense, of getting fed up with the series- when Harry Potter is STILL going strong with 2 movies left in that series and I have yet to see people getting angry about that and they have all the same fanaticism associated if not more because it pulls an even bigger audience than Twilight.

Just saying... Props once again to Stephenie Meyer for the way her characters were received from the start, even if the former Twilight lovers are now saying its stupid. I still heart Jasper. =)

Oh, thanks for sharing! I used to love Twilight, but now I'm sort of on the fence about it. As for the manga, ehh, I feel like how much further can they push this Twilight merchandise? *sigh* I have to admit New Moon's cover and the art are both very pretty though. *o*

I'm on board with the Twilight love (although more bookish than movie-ish)! Definitely purchasing the DVD though...not so keen on the Graphic Novel. (I'll wait til she decides to finish Midnight Sun...one day....) =0)

Even with the Twilight craze, I've only watched the first movie. But I love mangas with awesome art so I'm definitely going to read it. I've been wanting to read the series recently, it sounds interesting considering how many books I've read that were 'inspired' by Twilight.
