Summary: Str-S-d: I’ll begin with Lucy. She is definitely first on the list. You can’t believe how it feels to be in the cafeteria and turn around and there she is staring at me like I’m some disgusting bug or vermin. Does she really think I WANT to be this way? I hate you, Lucy. I really hate you. You are my #1 pick. I wish you were dead. The day after anonymous blogger Str-S-d wishes the popular girl would die, Lucy vanishes. The students of Soundview High are scared and worried. Especially frightened and wracked with guilt is Madison Archer, Lucy’s friend and the last person to see her the night she disappeared. As days pass with no sign of the missing girl, even the attention of Tyler, an attractive new student, is not enough to distract Madison from her growing sense of foreboding. When two more popular students disappear after their names are mentioned on Str-S-d’s blog, the residents of Soundview panic. Meanwhile, Madison receives anonymous notes warning that she could be next. Desperate to solve the mystery before anyone else disappears, Madison turns to Tyler, but can she trust him when it becomes clear that he knows more than he’s sharing? The clock is ticking. Madison must uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearances . . . before her name appears in Str-S-d’s blog. In the spirit of stories like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Todd Strasser updates the teen thriller for the techno age with Wish You Were Dead, the first installment in a new “thrill”-ogy.

My Review: Wish You Were Dead was a great suspenseful thriller for Young Adults. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't wait to find out who the kidnapper was. I enjoyed the characters, especially Madison, she never stopped thinking about her friends while others moved on. She was very strong because I would probably be an emotional wreck if three of my friends went missing. After the teens were missing, the book took a turn with a series of shocking events that shook Soundview High. By the way, I really like the name 'Soundview' it has a nice ring to it. Anyways, my favorite part is when I read the dialogue of the kidnapper. It seriously was eerie because it truly captured the creepy persona of a kidnapper. And the big shock of all was the ending, the kidnapper turned out to be a character that I didn't expect. And so, I really liked this face paced thriller and recommend it to you all, I can't wait for the next book! Overall, it wasn't scary, just taught me you should always be nice to everyone, or else one day someone just might hold a vendetta against you.
My Rating: 4.8 out of 5

My friend Billy was reading this, and he never reads, so I was very intrigued- it must be good for this guy to pick up a book, so I'm intrigued and might just have to pick it up.

It may depend on how popular the book is with readers-- if his publisher is pleased with sales, he might encourage him to continue the story through college at least!

i read this book and it was awesome.
But the summary says that madison has to find out who the kidnapper is before her name appears in this blog, but as i remember she hears about the blog in the end. Although she couldn't appear in this blog because she's quite different than the popular students, who were wish dead .
