I had mentioned about 2 weeks ago or so that Jason from CSNOfficeFurniture.com offered me a chance to review a bookcase. It arrived yesterday, September 1, 2009, by UPS, however it wasn't put together until today. I was so thrilled to be approached since my room was in dying need of a bookcase since their were tons of books everywhere, yes the addiction is getting worse hehe. The bookcase did take about a week and a half to arrive, which isn't the fastest delivery, but not bad either.
My mom ended up signing for the package since I was at work. So when I got home, I took this picture below, the packaging was pretty good, it was in a box and then over it their was a plastic covering. Definitely a good idea for protection against the rain. The interior didn't really have any Styrofoam to protect the wood, however their were these long edges that were glued on the outside of the box which seemed to hold the wood intact. (I'm not sure you can tell by looking at the box, it's pretty much those edges outside of the lines, does that make sense? I hope so!
I decided to lay all of the parts on the floor and attempt to build it myself, but that didn't work out so well, I was having some technical difficulties. So, I put them aside and left it for my brother (hey, he is good for something.) ;] Everything was numbered, as you can see from the picture, which does makes it easier to build, unless you're not hands on, like myself hehe.
This morning, when I came home from school, my brother already built it for me, he said it took him about 20 minutes and it was fairly easy to put together. The directions were straight forward and easy to understand. However, the wood (or compressed chips, I don't know it's my brother's terminology, since he said it's not actual wood) wasn't the best quality, their were times when the paint would chip off the bookcase. So, you have to delicately put it together, but it's nothing too serious, a little black permanent marker would do the job :)
So, the end result was amazing...I really love the bookcase, it's really cute and fits perfectly in my room, I recommend it if you're looking for a decent, affordable bookcase. This bookcase runs for $36.99, which is a pretty good price. Here is the link if you want to buy it: I want it! Below is the final look with some of my books on it..
Overall, it was a nice bookcase, I rate it a 4.5 out of 5. Thanks again CSN Office Furniture for giving me the chance to review it for you!
