Monday's Question of the Day...

Every Monday I'll be asking a question concerning books, hopefully no one came up with this idea yet, but I'm sure someone in the blog world has, anywho, I would love it if you all participate and even take part in it on your blog where you can ask your followers any question you want...just have fun with it my ladies and gents! :)

Question of the Day : What book has helped you get through a bad time in your life?

My Answer: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Reason: When I first started reading Twilight, I was going through a rough patch with my family so getting lost in Bella and Edward's romance made me forget about my issues. Instead of thinking about my problems, I'd think, I wonder what happens next in Twilight. I know, who would of thought a vampire book could be an escape from reality. But hey it was for me during that time.

I want to hear your answers, so just leave me a comment! :)

Great question! I think so many books have done just that for me... and I believe that is part of the reason I am such a reader today. There were some tough things in my childhood that made it easier to dive into someone else's world (BOOKS)rather than be in my own.

Trying to pinpoint a book is hard... maybe the Little House on The Prarie books in my pre teen years...

That is a great question!!

The books that helped me through a very rough patch in my life were The Little House on the Prarie books. I had (and still have) the boxed set. I remember closing myself up in my room when I got home from school in the afternoons, and reading those wonderful books. I never got tired of them, and they always made me feel happy!

Every book, in its own way, it's an escape from reality. Specially a vampire book, it has almost nothing to do with reality, though the Twilight series was bordering on non fiction lol

Sheila and Missy: Good answers, it's interesting how you both picked the same books, I wasn't too thrilled with the TV Show but maybe the books are good...I'll check it out :)

Taschima: Tell me about it, sometimes I'd forget Twilight was fiction that's how caught up I got into it...it's like I was acting like I knew Edward and Bella in real life lol

Hmmm... probably Sabriel by Garth Nix, it didn't get me through a sad time, but a boring school holidays. It was a good book.

It is funny you say Twilight, I started reading it while my son was 9 week and in the hospital having surgery. It helped me escape for a few hours while I waited and worried. He came out fine thank goodness but in turn found a new outlet in Bella and Edward. The other one that holds high for me is Desire for Three
by Leah Brooke. For some reason the ache the main heroin felt all her life just drew affected me greatly.
