New Meme: Say Bye to Your Comfort Zone!

Sometimes stepping out of your reading comfort zone is hard, well at least for me. I've been a dedicated YA reader and never really had the urge to try something new. Well, this year that changes. I will primarily still read my first love in YA, but I want to spice it up with who knows maybe some paranormal romance?

Anywho, this meme, "Say Bye to Your Comfort Zone" will feature a book I'd like to possibly read and who knows maybe it'll catch your eye too. :)

I'd love to hear which book you've been thinking about breaking your reading comfort zone, so make sure you share it with us all by commenting.

The Iron Wyrm Affair (Bannon & Clare, #1) by Lilith Saintcrow
Release Date: August 8, 2012
Publisher: Orbit

Summary: Emma Bannon, Prime sorceress in the service of the Empire, has a mission: to protect Archibald Clare, a failed, unregistered mentath. His skills of deduction are legendary, and her own sorcery is not inconsiderable. It doesn’t much help that they dislike each other, or that Bannon’s Shield, Mikal, might just be a traitor himself. Or that the conspiracy killing registered mentaths and sorcerers alike will just as likely kill them as seduce them into treachery toward their Queen. In an alternate London where illogical magic has turned the Industrial Revolution on its head, Bannon and Clare now face hostility, treason, cannon fire, black sorcery, and the problem of reliably finding hansom cabs. The game is afoot.

My Reasons: The whole sorcery aspect sounds magically delicious. Plus, Emma sounds like a kick-ass protagonist, even in the cover she looks fierce. I'm very intrigued!

Oh I totally agree with stepping out of your comfort zone with reading. There are so many genres that I wouldn't have fallen in love with had I not. Besides it's always nice to have a change. Only we don't want to pass judgement on a book based on our biased love of another genre.

I started my New Year off with reading a book out of my comfort zone. It was a Historical Romance by Sarah MacLean. I've read 6 novels so far this year and 4 out of the 6 are outside of my comfort level, and I loved all of them but 1.

Great idea! I try to step out of my comfort zone every now and again, but usually wind up coming back to urban fantasy. Love Lilith Saintcrow, and this looks like a good place to start! Enjoy!
