Where the beep have I been?

Hello my lovely followers! As you can see my poor blog has been suffering for a few weeks now. Life grabbed all of my free time and blogging unfortunately took a back seat.

Lately though, I've been contemplating if I'd consider blogging fun anymore. I'm not sure what's wrong with me, I do love all of you and my blog. It's been hard work and I'm very proud of my accomplishment thus far.

But, I am bored. Is it my layout? Maybe, I've had it for two years. I wonder if a new look will re-kindle my blogging obsession. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do to get over this funk that I've been in?

I received an e-mail today from one of my loyal readers, Amanda from The Vintage Bookworm (go follow her, super cute blog!) and she actually reached out to see if I am okay. Once I read her e-mail, it hit me that I not only am letting my blog down, but my readers as well. Thank you Amanda so much for taking the time out to e-mail me. I appreciated all her words and it made me remember how much I love communicating with other readers.

So, my goal, especially for the New Year is to spruce this book baby up! It needs a makeover and I definitely will take the time out to make this happen. Does anyone know anybody who creates fun, girlie layouts? I have an idea of what I want, I'm just not sure how to proceed with it.

Thank you everyone for sticking by me even through this silent state on my blog. In the coming week or so, changes will occur so stay tuned!!

Well there's a few people you can go to.

Larissa From Larissa's bookish life
Parajunkee From Parajunkee's View
Lori From Pure Imagination Does Layouts.
Robin From Intense Whisper Do Layouts.

Everyone of them is different.
So I would look at their portfolios.

I know how you feel! I felt the same way a while back until I changed my layout to a completely different look. I hope it helps you! For layouts I use The Cutest Blog On the Block since they'rebasic and free.

I can try and create you a layout! I suck at creating oen for myself, but for others I can do a pretty good job using the layout creator with some edits to the HTML =D Glad you wrote a post, I was worried!

Changing the lay out would help another thing that would help is taking a break from reviewing books like for example what I do when I'm in a funk like that is I read books that I already said I won't review like the sequels to manga so I'm still reading but have stepped away from the blog for a bit

so if you like comics or manga or tv shows or something you like but know you wouldn't review read/do/watch that instead for a bit then after a while read a book you know you will review or have something to say on and wam your back in business

I'm glad to hear you are alright! I've been missing my Tantalizing YA Reads every week. I figured you got caught up with the holidays and took a break.

I used Lori from Imagination Designs ( and she was beyond amazing. She made me blog everything I wanted and more.

Good luck in the new year!

I use Parajunkee Designs. She goes all out for me when I want something totally weird (check out the little floaty fairy outside my right sidebar.

What I suggest to make blogging fun again is to do different stuff than you did. If you did a lot of books, throw in Movies. Look some ideas in books up and blog about that. For example, early on I wrote about how vampires evolved from nasty monsters to the sparkling hotties (or not-sparkly but hot).

And, if you are overwhelmed go to every other day.

Hope it is all working out. :-)

sometimes, you just need to rest. doing something repetitive makes that something dull. taking a break is good too=)

It's nice to have a post from you! Though, I totally (I think we all do) understand life getting in the way and questioning our love of blogging. It's kind of a mixed bag because it is so much work and energy. I took the summer off because I was so busy and blogging felt a lot more like work than fun - I came back really recharged, sometimes you just need a break. Or a new layout - that can help too ;)

Hope you're feeling a bit better now. And I totally get the backing off from the world, thing. I have a tendency to do that myself.

Ditto the recommendations for Parajunkee. I love reading her Blogging 101 posts and her layouts are always fantastic.

Best of luck, and I hope you're having a wonderful holiday season!

i think i need a new layout as well. I had a cool one, but then I had to go to a random one when that fell through, so to speak.

nice to see you back though!! I'm slacking on my blog too. I really do want to make 2012 more of my year for blogging. :)
