Double Review: Vampires + Werewolves

Vampires by Joules Taylor
Genre: Handbook
Release Date: Available Now
Publisher: Spruce
Pages: 192
Received From: Publicist

Summary: Dangerous yet seductive, the vampire plays with our heart as he preys with our soul, commanding respect and inspiring complete devotion. For anyone touched by the vampire's flight through recent movies, TV shows and novels, here is a feast of vampire stories and lore. Charting the development of the vampire from prince of pure evil to poignant anti-hero, the VAMPIRE HANDBOOK, is a comprehensive guide to the vampire's nocturnal realm, exploring the dark mysteries of his eternal allure, irresistible charm and vulnerability.

My Review: Whoa, this was the best Vampire Handbook I've ever read! It literally is jam packed with fangtastic details. I sometimes forgot that I was reading about a fictional creature. Joules did a great job expressing every dimension of a vampire. She used precise "facts" and used great examples from books and movies. There's even a break down of different vampire personality traits that exist in our fantasy world. For example, Edward from Twilight was a "lonely and lovelorn" vampire. Yup that seems about right! I also loved the pictures that they chose to use from different movies. Overall, a great guide for vampire lovers!
My Rating: 4.8 out of 5
Author's Info:
Joules Taylor is a writer specializing in spells, dreams in legends. She lives in the United Kingdom.

My Favorite Vampires At The Moment:
I'm sure a lot of you watch The Vampire Diaries, I'm utterly infatuated with Stephan, but to be honest Damon is also hot and his dark side is scary yet sexy at the same time, don't ya agree!?

Werewolves by Jon Izzard
Genre: Handbook
Release Date: Available Now
Publisher: Spruce
Pages: 192
Received From: Publicist

Summary: From ancient legend to pop-culture icon, from monster to antihero, here is a complete look at werewolves. Fans of the complex beasts will howl with pleasure at this passionate handbook incorporating legend, lore, trivia and art. Author Jon Izzard stalks both the fiction and the facts: transformations, inner rage, extra-human strength, silver bullets, mysterious curses, modern cures and more. With werewolves now haunting movie screens and literature the way they have haunted our nightmares for millennia, readers won't wait for the full moon to devour this fascinating volume.

My Review: I must say, yet again another informative guidebook...boy do these authors do their homework! I honestly am more of a vampire fan, but werewolves have grown on me in the passed two years. I can thank Jacob from Twilight and Sam from Shiver for that! Jon's compelling details has further intrigued my curiosity about this creature. I really enjoyed this handbook but not as much as the vampire one. However, the cover still freaks me out, definitely don't want to wake up next to that cover hehe. Then again werewolves can't fall into the "sexy" department like vampires...it's not their fault they turn into druling, angry, fury animals.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Author's Info:
Jon Izzard writes about the paranormal and legends. He lives in the United Kingdom.

My Favorite Werewolf At The Moment:
Wow. Jacob from Twilight. Breathtaking...that's all I gotta say about that!

Jacob from Twilight. No words describe his hotness. :)

Damon is hot. I think hotter than Stefan, but it may just be that whole bad boy image. :) As for Team Edward or Team Jacob.... I'm Edward all the way. LOL

I love Stefan. Damon is gorgeous but he's a jerk haha. And I've always loved Jacob. I think he's a great character.
