You could request a book months before they even got it and when it was your turn you would get an email and could go and pick it up. They always got new releases and since Las Vegas was so big and you could borrow from any library they would send it to the branch you wanted to get it at if the book was at a different one and you'd have it in a day or two. Since moving I buy a lot more books because our library system is struggling for money, does not always get new books and you have to pay to request them adn wait forever!

When I do go I tend to look at the new releases or already know what book I am there to get having checked online to see if it is available.Jill Buckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18296890779922143900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4838369237362859018.post-43212900156383026582011-04-29T22:18:18.897-04:002011-04-29T22:18:18.897-04:00Cover -> Summary -> First page

When at a bookstore, I pretty much know what I want to buy, though I do browse the isles as well. Either way, I almost always get a book I'm familiar with. I get my recommendations from fellow book bloggers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4838369237362859018.post-7226009194841167932011-04-29T09:26:05.146-04:002011-04-29T09:26:05.146-04:00Thanks for picking my question!

I usually don't take out books with bad recommendations but every once in a while I want to read it just in case I have a different opinion.

Same with you, I don't really like asking for suggestions because I know the collection better than the librarians. It's usually the cover that grabs my attention, if the cover in unattractive I often tend to ignore it. If the cover is attractive i pick it up, read the summary and if it sounds interesting, I'll then check the reviews on GR to see if any of my friends liked it. If so, i'll usually purchase it.

However, since i work at a book store and the novels literally pass through my fingers before reaching the book shelves, I rarely go around and browse the store since i'm already quite familiar with the stock.

-Mocha from A Cupcake and A Latte.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
